Are you looking for a quick home decor project to liven up dinner time? Here’s a quick and simple project to do just that. It can also be a great fabric stash busting project if you have some extra pieces from other projects laying around! (Like my black and white striped fabric from my Dining Room Table Makeover!

Materials:
- Fabric of choice
- Scissors
- Rotary Cutter
- Rotary Mat
- Straight Edge
- Pins
- Sewing Machine (I have a brother that has worked wonderfully!)
- Thread (I like to use Transparent)
Step 1:
Pick out the fabrics of your choice. I decided to go with a black/white and red theme. (See my choices above)
Step 2:
Iron fabrics so they are smooth for cutting and they will be as square as possible when you cut them.
Step 3:
Using your rotary cutter and mat, cut your fabric into square pieces of 16” by 16”. You will need two pieces per napkin. I personally chose to make 4 napkins, so I cut out a total of 8 pieces trying to mix and match my coordinating fabrics.
Step 4:
Lay your two coordinating square pieces with the right sides facing together and pin in all 4 corners as a minimum to secure the pieces together for sewing.
Step 5:
Sew a ⅝” seam all the way around the edge, but leaving a 4” gap near the end.
Step 6:
Turn the fabric right side out by sticking your hand into the 4” gap and pulling each corner of the napkin through the hole, making sure you securely pull out the whole corner.
Step 7:
Use your hand to make a nice edge to match the rest of the sewn parts with the 4” seam. Press the fabric with your iron once again being sure to secure that edge nicely so it’ll stay together when you go to sew again.
Step 8:
Sew a ⅝” top stitch all the way around the edge of the napkin, including your 4” gap that hasn’t been sewn yet. 
Step 9:
Repeat this process until you have the correct amount of napkins desired!
