Materials:
- Yarn of choice
- Crochet hook–pick a size that would be best for your yarn size (I used a size I/9 5.5MM)
- Scissors
Crochet Abbreviations:
SC – Single Crochet
HDC – Half Double Crochet
DC – Double Crochet
Step 1:
Make a slip knot. Chain 6 and join in the round.
Step 2:
DC in center round 16 times total.
Step 3:
Chain 7. DC into next two chains.
Step 4:
Chain 4. DC into next two chains. Repeat until you have 8 petal bases. On the last one, you’ll only complete one DC in the next chain because you’ll be connecting it to the first loop.
Step 5:
Slip stitch into the next petal loop space. SC, HDC, DC 5 times, HDC, SC. Slip Stitch into the next petal space and repeat pattern: SC, HDC, DC 5 times, HDC, SC. It will create a fan shape inside each space to fill out the petals to the flower.
Step 6:
Slip stitch in the next 3 chain space to connect the beginning and ending petals together. Cut the working yarn.
Step 7:
Feed the cut yarn through the loop to tie off neatly. Pull the middle round tight with your first yarn tail to close up the middle. Weave in ends.
This looks like such a cool and fun project to try. Your step by step pictures really walk a potential crafter through the process well. Thanks for sharing! 😀
