Yoga Mat Strap

Comfortably and easily be able to carry your yoga mat to your next workout!

Materials:

  • Fabric of choice
  • Scissors
  • Sticky Back Velcro
  • Sewing needle and Thread or Sewing Machine

Step 1:

Measure and cut out a piece of fabric 16” in length by 13” in width. Cut down the middle to make two pieces the same size.

  

Step 2:

Measure and cut out a second piece of fabric 30” in length and 4’½” in width. The picture shows the fabric folded in half length wise. 

Step 3:

Fold each edge with right side facing up. Sew each edge with a ⅝” seam on all the pieces. I used a clear thread so it blends into the fabric nicely.

  

Step 4:

Sew the longer piece (strap) to the inside of the two shorter pieces. I went back and forth a few times with my machine to make sure it is strongly secured.

  

Step 5:

Cut velcro to fit each side and attach the velcro on the two side pieces. One will go on the inside and the other will go on the outside so they can wrap around the yoga mat and attach properly.

  

Step 6:

Go get your workout on Yogi!
