This quick and easy wall hanging is the perfect way to add a pop of color to your room decor AND use up some yarn scraps! Win-Win!
Materials:
- Decorative Stick or Dowel
- Yarn
- Scissors
- Ceiling Hook
- String or Hemp
Step 1:
Cut various lengths of yarn in whatever yarn choices you’d like to. I personally am trying to use up old yarn from a stash I inherited, so it may seem a little random. I tried to pick colors that coordinate together though nicely.
Step 2:
Double up the yarn and tie it around the stick or dowel. Put the yarn under the stick and pull the top loop down over the top of the stick. Pull the bottom yarn through the loop and pull tight around the stick.
Step 3:
Repeat step two as many times as you would like to in whichever varying pattern you would like to. I liked to do some thicker lines by adding two yarns of the same color next to each other or make skinnier lines by only adding one or not doubling up the yarn.
Step 4:
Look at the bottoms of the yarn hanging out and see if it follows a pattern. Mine had a natural zig zag type motion, so I just went with it! Use your scissors to cut a fun design out of your yarn and discard the excess.
Step 5:
Decide where you would like to hang your wall art and cut a piece of hemp for hanging with a height depending on your location. Tie little bows on either side of the stick and make sure it’s all balanced in the middle.
Step 6:
Install your little hook into your ceiling where you’re hanging your wall hanger from. I just like to push while I screw it in so no additional tools are required. Once it’s securely in your ceiling, attach your wall hanging art and make sure it’s level!
