Looking for a quick little project to spice up your outfit? Make your own initial necklace with a cute little bow!
Materials:
- Small plastic canvas
- Scissors
- Necklace Chain
- 4 Jump Rings
- 1 Jewelry clasp
- Jewelry pliers
Step 1:
Cut a small 10 x 10 square piece in the plastic canvas.
Step 2:
Move three squares in and cut two squares deep at an angle. Meet the angle from the other side and repeat on the other side. This completes the top of the “M”.
Step 3:
Move two squares over from the bottom and cut two squares deep at an angle. Repeat on the other side leaving one square in the middle. Cut off any straight edges left to make more of a statement with the initial letter. You can use this template to make the other letters of the alphabet so you can use your own initial for your necklace! 🙂
Step 4:
Cut out a small 10 x 6 rectangle piece in the plastic canvas for the bow.
Step 5:
Move three squares in and cut at an angle two squares deep. Repeat on the other side to meet in the middle. Turn and repeat on other side.
Step 6:
Prepare your chain for the length that you would like for your necklace. If it’s longer, like mine, you may not need your jewelry clasp and you can just slip it over your head. If it’s a little shorter, you will need the clasp because it won’t fit over your head.
Step 7:
Place a jump ring in the far right corner of the initial letter and the bottom right corner of the bow. Remember to open the jump ring like you’re tearing a package instead of pulling them apart so they aren’t bent out of shape when you close it. Place a second jump ring in the far left corner of the initial letter and the bottom left corner of the bow. Close the jump rings to connect.
Step 8:
Add two more jump rings to the top two corners of the bow and attach the chain to the two jump rings and close.
