This is my very first shawl pattern that I designed and I can’t wait to share all the things with you!

Materials:

The Pattern:

The pattern is the Lines and Vines Shawl by Breaking Yarn!

The shawl features beautiful brioche vines and very simple garter lines!

Shawl Construction:

This shawl is knit in reverse – where you cast on all the stitches in the project and then slowly decrease towards the end of the shawl after the brioche section. This is to help avoid the loss of momentum in the project where you use all your effort on the smallest part of the project. Also, the brioche is the hardest part of the whole project – so if you make a mistake and have to rip at all, at least you’re in the beginning of the project!

And the best part is – there are only 4 ends to weave when you’re finished!

Overall, I would say this pattern is mostly easy with the most challenging part being the brioche. If you can learn the basics of brioche, you can do this shawl! I also include a YouTube video showing you how to do the increase/decreases in the brioche portion, but you still need to have some basic knowledge before tackling this project!

The Yarn:

I used my Swish DK base in the colorways Crystal Meth as my main color and Breaking Princess as my contrasting color. I think the brioche looks the best when there is a solid color as the main color and you then can use any color as the contrasting color!

I put together some kits for this pattern – it comes with the yarn and the pattern for you to knit your own version of the shawl! The kits can be found here!

Here is a small sample of some of the kits available:

There are lots of different options for color combinations! You can also create your own by just choosing two skeins of DK weight yarn.
