Materials:

Step 1:

For an adult size, cast on 50 stitches using the long tail cast on method or the knit method. Whichever is your preference!

Step 2:

Join in the round to connect the knitting in a circle for your headband.

Rib for the next 8 rows meaning you *Knit 1, Purl 1* all the way around for 8 rounds. You can place a stitch marker at the beginning of your round, or you can use your tail as your marker.

Step 3:

Once you have your desired width, cast off using the stretchy cast off method! This method will make it so the yarn won’t be too tight on one side and will fit over your head.

Knit 2 together, then pass the stitch from the right hand needle back to the left hand needle and repeat this process until you only have one stitch remaining. You are essentially knitting each stitch twice which will you give you a little more stretch over the regular cast off method.

Step 4:

Tie your last stitch off and weave in your ends!
