Knitted Chevron Washcloth Pattern

When you need to make some washcloths and do some pattern testing at the same time – you get a gorgeous washcloth!

Materials:

Step 1:

Cast on a 35 stitches using either the long tail method or the knit method.

Step 2:

The pattern repeat is 6 rows total:

Row 1 (Right Side): Knit 5, *Purl 1, Knit 5; Repeat from * to the end of the row.

Row 2 (Wrong Side): Knit 1, *Purl 3, Knit 3; Repeat from * to the second to last stitch, Knit 1.

Row 3 (Right side): Purl 2, *Knit 1, Purl 2; Repeat from * to the end of the row.

Row 4 (Wrong Side): Purl 1, *Knit 3, Purl 3; Repeat from * to the last 4 stitches, Knit 3, Purl 1.

Row 5 (Right Side): Knit 2, *Purl 1, Knit 5; Repeat from * to the last 3 stitches, Purl 1, Knit 2.

Row 6 (Wrong Side): Purl.

Step 3:

Repeat the 6 row repeat 9 more times or until your washcloth is a square for a total of 10 rows.

Step 4:

Cast off of your needles. I used the simple knit cast off. Knit two to the right hand needles, pass the first stitch over the first stitch and off your needle. Knit one more and repeat the process until they are all off the needles.

Step 5:

Tie off the last stitch and weave in your two ends with either a crochet hook or a yarn needle.
