Turn your old, unused, or single dangle earrings into progress keepers for your fiber projects!

Materials:
- Old, unused, or single earring(s)
- Jewelry Pliers
- Jump Ring(s)
- Lever Back Earring Hooks
Step 1:
Remove the fishhook or earring backs from your earrings that you want to upcycle using your jewelry pliers and discard or use for another project.
Step 2:
Still using your jewelry pliers, open a jump ring with a tearing motion to open it instead of pulling it apart. This will help the jump ring to keep its shape when you bend it back.
Step 3:
Attach the jump ring to the earring with the lever back earring and close the jump ring with the tearing motion back in place.
Step 4:
Repeat this process for as many earrings you want to convert to progress keepers!
Attach the progress keeper to your knitting, crochet or other fiber projects so you can keep track of how much progress you make per day, week, month, etc.
I have been using these progress keepers to keep track of my progress made on my projects between podcast episodes!
Why the lever back?
The lever back earring is especially good for progress keepers because you can open it super wide and attach it to your project without ruining or hurting any of your fiber or fabric. You can also have it grab on to several stitches so it’s not tugging any any one stitch.
