Easily serve up this quick and delicious sandwich! A fun twist on a sandwich classic!
Ingredients:
- Sourdough bread
- Turkey
- Cheese (I used Mozzarella)
- 505 Green Chile Sauce
- Tomato
- Butter
Step 1:
Pre-heat a small or medium sized skillet on medium-high heat.
Spread a thin layer of butter on two pieces of sourdough bread. I like to butter both sides of the bread so itβll be crispier.
Step 2:
Brown the bread in the skillet. Once the butter melts on one side, flip it over to brown the other side.
Step 3:
Add cheese to one side of the bread.
Step 4:
Add the Turkey to the same side of the bread with the cheese.
Step 5:
Evenly spread the 505 green chile sauce on the turkey. I usually use about a tablespoon of the sauce. If you use too much, it may cause your bread to become soggy!Β
Step 6:
Slice the tomato in thin slices and apply to the top of the turkey.
Step 7:
Add the other slice of bread to the top of the sandwich. Carefully flip the sandwich to brown the other side.
Slice and serve!
I really like this recipe. Alton Brown recommends only buttering the outside of the bread. What are your thoughts on this?
Hi Jake! Thank you! π I think it’s a personal preference. My husband especially likes both sides to be toasted before assembling the sandwich so it doesn’t get soggy at all. How do you like it?
Omg chile sauce on a grilled cheese? I never thought of this. Yummy!
It’s so delicious!! My husband doesn’t like to eat at places that serve sandwiches because he says, “You can make it better!” π So sweet!
Yum!
I’m going to try this! Thank you!
This looks fantastic
