I saw these adorable little mini skein earrings somewhere online, but couldn’t find a tutorial for how to make them – so I made one!

Materials:
- Lace weight yarn in desired color
- Toilet Paper Roll
- Scissors
- 2 Jump Rings
- 2 Earring Hooks
- Jewelry Pliers
Step 1:
Hold the yarn against the toilet paper roll and wrap the yarn around the roll length wise for 20 wraps.
Step 2:
After you have wrapped the yarn around the toilet paper roll 20 times, cut the yarn. Tie a knot between the beginning of the yarn and the end of the yarn that you just cut to secure the two ends together.
Step 3:
Cut the excess of the tied ends together to make it look a little neater and move it near the end of the yarn.
Step 4:
Remove the yarn from the toilet paper roll.
Using your fingers, twist the yarn approximately 7 times around until it’s really tight and wanting to fold onto itself.
Step 5:
Once it’s wrapped really tight, push the middle section down until it starts to twist together naturally. Then, insert one end of the yarn into the other to secure. You may need to adjust the twist or the ends a little bit more to make sure it’s tight enough. This is your mini skein!
Step 6:
Open your jump ring using your jewelry pliers with a tearing motion instead of a pulling motion. This will help the jump ring to maintain its shape.
Step 7:
Attach the jump ring to the inside of the yarn loop and add the earring hook. Close up the jump ring to secure all the pieces together.
Step 8:
Repeat all the steps once more for the other earring.
So cute! Im totally doing this with my fingering weight leftovers!
Yay! So happy to hear this!
