Crocheted Bean Stitch Baby Blanket

This is an adorable stitch for a baby blanket! So soft and cuddly!

Materials:

  • Bernat Brights Yarn (2 Skeins)
  • I love this yarn (1 Skein)
  • Size Q 15/75mm Crochet Hook
  • Scissors

Step 1:

Place both of the yarns together and make a slip stitch. Chain 50. (You can adjust how many chains you do depending on how small/large you want your blanket to be, but yarn requirements may change.

Step 2:

Insert hook into second chain from the hook. Yarn over, pull through chain.

 

Step 3:

Yarn over, insert hook into the same chain, yarn over, and pull through. You should have 4 stitches on your hook.

 

Step 4:

Yarn over, pull through all 4 stitches.

 

Step 5:

Chain one.

 

Step 6:

Skip the next chain stitch and repeat process.

Here is the whole process for the bean stitch.

 

Step 7:

When you get to the end of your row, chain one, turn your work. Start your stitch again starting with the second chain from the hook.  

Repeat stitch pattern for approximately 30 rows or until you run out of yarn.

Finishing:

When you get to the end of a row, cut off the remaining yarn with about 6 inches extra. Pull the remaining yarn through the stitch and pull tight. Weave in ends. Final measurements were approximately 30” x 38”.
