Skillet Tacos (AKA Lazy Tacos)

Want to make tacos but don’t really have the time or energy to make each individual taco for your family? This method is the PERFECT way to make tacos in less time! Crowd pleasing recipe!

Yield: 10 Tacos

Ingredients:

  • 1lb Ground beef
  • 1 Jar 505 Green Chile Salsa (or any Salsa)
  • 10 Corn Tortillas (White or Yellow)
  • 1 Cup Vegetable oil
  • Salt
  • 1 ½ Cup Cheese (I used Mozzarella)
  • Desired Toppings (Black Olives, Tomatoes, Onions, Sour Cream, Avocado, Cilantro, etc.)

Step 1:

Brown your beef in a large skillet and drain the grease.

Heat up a separate small skillet on medium-high heat and add vegetable oil.

Prepare a plate with a paper towel on top to drain the shells from the oil.

Step 2:

After the beef is browned and drained, add the jar of salsa. Stir.

Make your taco shells by adding a corn tortilla to the oil and hold it folded in half with some tongs. Flip once that side is the desired amount of golden brown and repeat on the other side.

Step 3:

Once your beef and salsa are heating through, add in cheese. Stir.

Remove the taco shell from the oil carefully, place it on the prepared plate with the paper towel to dry fully. Sprinkle with salt on both sides of the tortilla shell.

Step 4:

Add any other toppings you want to the skillet: Tomatoes, Black Olives, Onions, Etc. The only toppings I wouldn’t add to the skillet are: Avocados, lettuce, Sour Cream and any toppings that the group/family doesn’t agree on.

Continue making your taco shells until you have the desired amount.

Step 5:

Use a spoon to fill the taco shells with the mixture. Add any last minute non-skillet toppings to the tacos. ENJOY!
