How to Make Pom Poms The Easy Way

Tired of making pom poms one at a time? Try this technique to quickly make 5-6 pom poms at once!

Materials:

  • Yarn
  • TV Tray or Stool
  • Scissors

Step 1:

Turn your TV tray or stool upside down so you can use two of the bottom posts.

Step 2:

Tie the yarn on one of the posts and begin wrapping the yarn around between the two posts approximately 100 times. Once you get your desired thickness, cut the yarn and tie it off.

Step 3:

Carefully pull the yarn off the posts and lay on a solid surface. Cut 5-6 strands of yarn approximately 10-12”.

Step 4:

Tie the yarn strands around the wrapped yarn tightly in 5-6 evenly spaced out.

Step 5:

Cut the ends and in between each yarn strand to create 5-6 separate pom poms. Be careful not to cut the strands you tied in between each pom pom. We’ll need those to attach to various projects.

Step 6:

Trim up each pom pom so they are even and round.
